Mariam is the third born in a family of seven children.  Mariam, her two brothers, and four sisters live with their mother.  Their father died in 2015.  Mariam’s mother is a peasant who grows crops like corn and beans on a small piece of land for the family’s consumption.  She also weaves mats to earn a little more money for the family.  She earns so little money that she cannot afford providing for the family’s needs.  Mariam loves studying, but she often misses school whenever her tuition is not paid. Sponsorship will help her to attend school daily.  This will be her way to a brighter future.
