Oscar is the second born in a family of 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls.  He stays with his siblings and parents who are both unemployed. They are peasant farmers who grow beans, cassava and corn basically for food. The parents try and provide food for their children although sometimes, their area is struck by drought. The parents are not able to pay tuition for Oscar, an active child who loves school. He would like to be an engineer when he grows up.
