My name is Shakira. I am the second born with one brother and four sisters. My father died after he was hit by a tree that he was cutting. Since his death, we have always lived a difficult life with our mother in the village of Malindi in Central Uganda. Our home is about 10 miles from the source of the River Nile. My mother cannot afford to pay for my tuition and school supplies. This greatly affects my attendance at school but I have the hope to get support for my education so as to attend school regularly.
